Top TV personality award for Dannii Dannii has been named Cosmopolitan's Ultimate TV Personality of the Year 2009.
The X Factor judge and mentor was honoured at the annual Awards hosted by Fearne Cotton at Banqueting House in London's Whitehall.
Minogue credited her boyfriend, Kris Smith, for helping her through the year, saying she never thought she could feel this happy.
She said: "When you're having a good time both at work and in your love life, I guess it shows on your face. And it shows even more given that it follows on from some difficult situations last year. You get into a black hole, thinking nothing will ever be the same and you'll never be happy again, but then good things happen and you finally re-emerge. I'm amazed at my own good fortune, and so grateful for it. I feel euphoric."
Her older sister Kylie said: "I'm so proud of my sister for receiving Cosmo's award. She has worked really hard and is shining right now. Doing The X Factor with her this year made me appreciate how hard her job is, and how great she is at it.
"The secret to her success is her experience - having started in the business at the age of seven - and her ability to make tough decisions with sensitivity."

Dannii lights up Harrods This Christmas Harrods is joining Warner Brothers to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the iconic film, The Wizard of Oz. To mark the event, all of Harrods 11,500 white lightbulbs will turn into a glittering green, creating our very own Emerald Palace in Knightsbridge
The magic happened at 5pm today when Dannii joined The Harrods Chairman, Mr Al Fayed, for the official switching on of the lights.
Accompanying Dannii and Mr Al Fayed was another very special guest, ten year old Dominic, a patient of Great Ormond Street Hospital. Dominic was born with foetal alcohol syndrome which required major heart surgery and subsequent regular visits to the hospital. With your help Harrods can raise £300,000 to fund three bedrooms in the new kidney unit which will hugely improve the lives of Dominic, his fellow patients and their families.

Last weekend we lusted over Dannii Minogue’s amazing updo, as she stepped onto the X Factor stage, and it seems we weren’t the only ones.
Paris Hilton stepped out yesterday at a red carpet event with exactly the same hairstyle as our X Factor judge. On Saturday, Dannii teamed her structured quiff with a floor-skimming gown and statement earrings.
This week however, Paris also sported the same updo, as the socialite posed for photographers in a sequin frock with a high-quiff very similar to Dannii’s. We wonder if they share the same hair stylist?

Official Statement Hi there. I want to clear up exactly what happened on last night's X Factor show and post my sincere apologies to anyone who took offense. I made a comment about Danyl changing the lyrics of his song (And I'm Telling You - Dreamgirls). It was meant to be a humorous moment about the fact he has an opportunity to have fun with his song. An openly bi-sexual singing a song that is lyrically a 'girl's song'. Danyl and I were joking about the very same thing in rehearsals on Friday, so it carried on to the show. I'd like to apologise to anyone that was offended by my comments, it was never my intention. I spoke to Danyl straight after the show last night and he wasn't offended or upset by my comments, and knew exactly what I was saying. 11th October 2009

Live shows Kick Off The live shows are here already and will be kicking off tonight.
The theme for this week will be "Anything" and Dannii-Online have heard a few of the contestants singing their songs and can say that there will be a wide variety of tunes.
The press have also been saying that Simon has been suffering from flu and may not make it to tonights show but we can confirm that Simon will be there and that he has been attending rehearsals with his acts because we saw him on Thursday.

Minogue 'most popular X Factor mentor' Lucie Jones has claimed that Dannii Minogue is the Final 12 contestants' favourite X Factor judge.
The Welsh hopeful revealed that all the singers secretly wanted to be mentored by the Australian popstar because she is so "personable".
"Everyone loves Dannii. Everyone wants Dannii. Everyone is happy with their mentor, but we're so lucky," she told DS. "She's very personable, she calls and texts. She's always there and on a level.
"She's so down-to-earth and she's got so much experience under her belt. She's got all that advice from all her experience."
Single mum Stacey Solomon, who is also mentored by Minogue, said: "She's been the best. She's been absolutely brilliant. She came round for my birthday on Sunday. She got me a present - cakes! It was wicked. I love Dannii. She's the best.
"She just wants to help you out. She's always at the end of the phone. You'll text her and she'll text back and be there for you. She's proper involved."

Piers Bags Minogue Interview CHAT show host Piers Morgan, 44, has bagged an interview with X Factor judge Dannii Minogue.
Earlier this year he did a chat with her former show rival Sharon Osbourne who slated the Aussie star.
She bitched: “She was like a mosquito who wouldn’t go away. I left because of her.”
Now Dannii, 37, will be speaking openly about Sharon, 56, the other X Factor judges and her sister Kylie, 41.

Dannii Minogue gives advice to sister of cancer victim at Pride of Britain Awards Pride of Britain winner Kristin Hallenga said X Factor judge Dannii Minogue gave valuable advice to her twin Maren on how to cope with a sister with breast cancer.
Kristin, who is battling advanced breast cancer at just 23, received her Special Recognition award for her hard-hitting cancer awareness campaign CoppaFeel..
Dannii's older sister Kylie underwent her own battle against the disease in 2005.
Like Kristin, who was turned away by doctors when she complained about "lumpy breasts", Kylie was originally misdiagnosed.
Brilliant Kristin, of Northampton, said: "Dannii said she loved my campaign and thought it was a brilliant idea. I know she understands what I'm going through because of Kylie. She then spoke to Maren. It really helped Maren to know they had something in common. They could talk to each other on a level."
Kristin, who lost her blonde hair during chemo treatment, added: "I was so pleased to get a Pride of Britain Award my eyebrows grew back. Now I need to get my hair back."

CVQO Appeal - Launch Photocall Dannii was at yet another event this evening, This time for the CVQO Appeal - Launch Photocall The Duke of Westminster launched the Future for Youth Appeal at the Cavalry and Guards Club, London, on October 6, 2009, to help CVQO (Cadet Vocational Qualification Organisation) to raise £2 million. Guests included Admiral Lord West of Spithead, Dannii Minogue, Mr William Hamilton van Straubenzee, Major-General John Holmes, Lorraine Kelly, Jonathan Rathbone and Kate Adie.

X Factor crew detained at airport X Factor crew were held by security for two hours at Dubai airport as they tried to fly in to work with mentor Dannii Minogue. Apparently, the production team had been flying in with contestants from the girls' group including favourite Stacey Solomon, who are all being looked after by Dan. However, alarmed airport staff thought they looked like they were on a spying mission and hauled them off for interrogations - but not before they'd let the clearly more innocent-looking contestants go.

Dannii's tears as fave act is axed DANNII Minogue bursts into tears on tonight's X Factor - as one of her favourite acts is kicked out. The big-hearted judge loses her cool when the act is sent home from Boot Camp. Only 24 make it through to the judges' houses before being cut down again for the live TV finals of the contest. Last night show bosses were keeping the identity of the act a secret to avoid spoiling the surprise for viewers. But an insider revealed: "Dannii was really gutted."
She needed a tissue to dry her eyes as she tried to compose herself. "This is one person who she really fell in love with, for more reasons than one. So it's hard for her when she has to say goodbye," said the insider.

Dannii Takes on Cheryl in Charts Dannii has done an interview with Metro about her return to music. Minogue said 'It's hard to keep away from music because you hear a great song and you think, 'I want it to be mine'. Minogue also confirmed that she will be working with the Freemasons for her comeback. 'I haven't had a proper chance to meet up with Freemasons yet just because of everything that has been going on, but when I do new stuff I definitely want them to be a part of that. Vauxhall Crossed Blockbuster stuntman PETER PEDRERO is to make his directorial debut an all-star affair after landing his two-time HARRY POTTER pal ROBERT PATTINSON and DANNII MINOGUE among the familiar faces in VAUXHALL CROSSED.
Pedrero, who has performed stunts in all the Potter films as well as James Bond movies Goldeneye and The World Is Not Enough and Braveheart and The Mummy, will direct the British spy movie at Pinewood Studios in England, where the 007 movies are shot.
The film, about American and MI6 agents who team up to take down a psychotic dictator, also features The Full Monty star Hugo Speer.

Dannii Minogue 'wants US TV work' While the rumor mill is working overtime with who will be helping Dannii mentor her acts during Judges home's process,Dannii has taken the time to talk to the London Metro about her USA plans.
Dannii Minogue has revealed that she has had meetings with producers about securing TV work in the US.
The reality talent panellist said that she hopes her judging experience will help her win jobs with American networks, Metro reports.
Minogue said: "I had some great meetings and would be very interested in getting work over there. X Factor has been an incredible launch pad for me so I'd definitely be up for it."
The former singer added that she had visited the US with her boyfriend Kris Smith, who she believes will help her overcome any fears about relocating.
"When you're younger, like when I first arrived in London, you are fearless and you just kind of go for everything but as you get older things get more daunting," she said.
"But having Kris with me is a massive support. I'm ready."

I've Found The One DANNII Minogue has revealed that she’s finally found the love of her life
The 37-year-old Australian beauty, who has been dating the former rugby player turned model, Kris Smith since last year, said that she’s never been happier.
“I am just so, so in love,” she said. “For the first year, we’ve been working out how to be together because our jobs are so crazy and all over the place, but I know he’s The One.”
And it’ not just Dannii’s love life that’s on the rise.
The X Factor judge will make her return to television screens this weekend when the new series of X Factor gets underway and is gearing up to make her chart comeback later this year with a brand new sound.

X Factor Sunday show confirmed The X Factor will be beefed up with a new Sunday results show when the live stages are reached, ITV have confirmed.
From mid-autumn, the usual Saturday programme - showcasing hopefuls' performances in front of judges Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole, Louis Walsh and Dannii Minogue - will be joined by the new peak-time Sunday show, also featuring guest stars.
Both shows will be live, so viewers will have a greater opportunity to vote over weekends.

The 'X Factor' judge finds visiting clothes shops boring and only does it to please her boyfriend, former rugby star Kris Smith.
She said: "There's a work me and a slob-around-at-home me. I love clothes but I don't love shopping. My boyfriend, Kris, adores it, so to earn brownie points I go with him, but after 15 minutes my foot starts tapping. I'm a total bloke. I tear things out of things out of magazines and ask my assistant to pick them up."
Although she doesn't enjoy shopping, Dannii is conscious about what she wears, especially when she appears on the TV talent show, alongside Cheryl Cole, Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh.
She said: "Simon said recently that anybody in showbiz is a peacock - you want to look good, you want to feel good, you want to get out there and do a good job, and for me clothes are part of that.
"Simon got rid of his high-waisted trousers, but I do still wish he would put in a bit more effort. You should walk in there as a judge and present part of the dream. We've been working in the industry a long time and that's what contestants are aiming for."

Dannii does it again! She might be the darling of X Factor after proving a massive hit when she joined the talent show's panel last year and re-signing for an even bigger pay packet.
But Cheryl Cole seems to be increasingly losing her grip on the title of the show's biggest fashionista to fellow judge Dannii Minogue.
MInogue, Cole's arch-rival since she first joined X Factor in 2008, stole yet another march on the Girls Aloud star today as they arrived for the latest round of auditions.
The 37-year-old looked sleek and sophisticated in a very on-trend dark leopard print dress teamed with a pair of classic Mary Jane platform shoes.
A hemline below the knee ensured the sexy print did not look too flashy and the style was simple enough not to be overwhelming.
Minogue's monochrome outfit was perfectly co-ordinated with a thick silver headband which made her fringe invisible and gave her face an instant lift.

X Factor judges making waves X FACTOR judges Louis Walsh and Cheryl Cole reassure each other as they start filming the new series - on a yacht.
Cheryl, 26, and Louis, 56, met up with colleague Dannii Minogue, 37, at a pier off the Thames in London on Sunday with the ladies looking to sink each other in the style wars.
Dannii opted for the formal look in a fitted black top, skin-tight trousers and shades while Cheryl wore a patch-work jacket.
They joined up with Simon Cowell who hours earlier had celebrated a premature 50th birthday party at a star-studded bash. Looks like the reality show trio are ready to start making waves.

Minogue sings to 'vain' Cowell at party Dannii Minogue sang 'You're So Vain' to Simon Cowell at the music mogul's 50th birthday celebrations last night, a report claims.
The Australian singer was one of many celebrities who attended the star's surprise festivities, which were organised by his close friend Jackie St Claire.
It is believed that St Claire decided to share her own birthday party with Cowell after hearing that he would be too busy to celebrate his 50th when he reaches the milestone in October.
According to the Sunday Mirror, Minogue's performance, which featured Louis Walsh and other guests on backing vocals, provided one of Cowell's favourite moments of the night.
A source revealed: "Jackie went to extraordinary lengths to organise the bash for Simon. She even told the guys performing they were singing for her - but it turned out they were there for Simon.
"She knew the performance would really make him laugh. Dannii took the lead vocals and the others came out providing the comedy for the show. Jackie knew Simon would find it hysterically funny - especially when Louis joined in the singing."
The insider added: "Simon is so vain but, unlike some, he is the first to admit it. So it was the perfect joke."

Dannii has turned to Hackford Jones PR as she prepares to reappear as a judge on reality TV show The X Factor. The agency has been called in to handle the singer’s PR and act as her personal publicists, focusing on her return to the hit ITV show.
Minogue confirmed this week that she would definitely be appearing as a judge, after months of speculation about whether she would return to the show this year.
Hackford Jones will initially look at style and fashion-based press publications. The campaign will then lead into more mainstream coverage. The agency plans to target print, TV, radio and online media outlets to promote the singer, and will begin to target long-lead titles this month, in advance of the show’s filming later this summer.

The last day of filming is set to be filmed in front of a studio audience and Dannii-Online will be there on Saturday.
I'm back now though and have added over 200 pictures to the gallery from The X auditions, Having a meeting in Notting Hill, Arriving at Los Angeles airport and candids out and about in LA.
Dannii is currently in LA for business meetings involving TV/Film work ect.
